GABRIEL EMANUEL is best known for his award winning play EINSTEIN which has been published and translated into more than a dozen languages. The play has toured Canada and been around the world since its premiere in Toronto more than 30 years ago! Several Actors appearing in the title role in several different languages and Festivals have each won Best Actor awards for their performances. Another published play, CHILDREN OF NIGHT (CHILD OF NIGHT in a later, revised edition) tells the compelling story of Dr. Janusz Korczak the head of an orphanage in the Warsaw Ghetto during the Holocaust. The play won a South American wide MOSTRA award in 2012. The GOLEM OF PRAGUE won an award at the Children’s Festival, Haifa, Israel in 2008. MR. BEGIN, a play about the controversial 6th Prime Minister of Israel has won the Prime Minister’s Award in Israel in 2022. The play which is available in its original English version has just entered its 12th year running in Hebrew, in Israel.
Gabriel Emanuel is also the author of several other produced and “as yet to be produced” plays. The latter category includes 2 musical plays; PAUL ROBESON: THE CONCERT HE NEVER GAVE based on the life of Paul Robeson and MISUNDERSTOOD:THE LIFE AND TIMES OF NINA SIMONE.
Gabriel Emanuel is also a poet and songwriter. Recently one of his poems won an award at the
1st International Amilcare Solferini Literary Competition (2024) in Torino, Italy
