Jessica Outram
An award-winning author, poet laureate emeritus, and experienced educator, Jessica Outram is the author of a novel for middle grade students, Bernice and the Georgian Bay Gold, the poetry collection The Thing with Feathers, and the play Once Upon a Rocking Chair.
Jessica’s work explores place, memory, and the quiet forces that shape a life. Her writing is attentive to history and landscape, often circling questions of belonging, identity, and voice, inspired by the layered histories of Georgian Bay. She’s a citizen of the Métis Nation of Ontario, with roots in the Georgian Bay Métis community.
