Stephen Orlov
Stephen Orlov is a multiple award-winning dramatist, whose plays have been showcased in such theatre centres as Chicago, London and Montreal. He co-edited with acclaimed Palestinian playwright, Samah Sabawi, Double Exposure: Plays of the Jewish and Palestinian Diasporas, the first English-language anthology worldwide in any genre of drama, prose or poetry by Jewish and Palestinian writers, which was awarded CATR’s biannual best English Canadian anthology. His hit plays include, among others, Freeze, Birthmark, Isolated Incident (with Rahul Varma), and Sperm Count. Stephen has served several terms on the Board Executives of Playwrights Guild of Canada and Playwrights Canada Press. He leads workshops and masterclasses on play-writing and script-adaptation, more recently for Playwrights Guild of Canada, Québec Drama Federation, Osher Institute at Dartmouth College, and the National Arts Festival of Saint Lucia. He is now polishing Engagement, the third of his Jewish and Palestinian diaspora trilogy.
