Kristine Greenaway is a playwright and translator whose plays have been produced in Switzerland, France, and Canada. She tells stories about characters and places which tickle her imagination when she asks, “Who lives or works here and why?” As the English-language translator for Swiss playwright, Emanuelle Delle Piane, she has translated plays for adults and children.
Her play Motherland earned praise from Atom Egoyan during its run at Toronto’s Fringe Festival. Egoyan called it “a fascinating and sensitive observation of an Armenian family.” Her comedy Old Coots Commune was enthusiastically received in Zoom readings from B.C. to Ontario. Her radio play Just One of the Guys about Toronto’s first woman firefighter was produced in audio format and heard by an international audience in six countries. She is now developing a play about the Canadian photographer Reva Brooks.
Kristine is a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada, the Société suisse des auteurs, the Geneva Writers’ Group, and Alumnae Theatre.
