Marcio Beauclair is a Brazilian Canadian Queer theatre director and playwright.

Marcio has a postgraduation in Theatre from Celia Helena Performance Art Centre in São Paulo and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from UFRJ. Since 2017, he has been dedicating himself to writing and directing independent theatre productions.

Beauclair’s writing experience comprehends S(M)ADNESS (2018) and the Canadian
adaptation of the play THE RAGE OF NARCISSUS by the Sergio Blanco (Theatre Passe
Muraille 2023).

As a stage director, he produced THE RAGE OF NARCISSUS – his directorial and playwright debut here in Canada – as a newcomer artist. He won the grant of the Playwrights Guild
of Canada for the adaptation of the play. And he’s working on his next project Kill your Father, a feminist version of Medea.

As an independent Director, he chooses authors and pieces that, in some way, dialogue
with his intersectionality as a Latino, Immigrant, and LGBTQIA+ person.
