Scott Jones is a disabled, queer filmmaker, playwright, and activist based in Mi’kma’ki (NS). Scott’s film credits include Love, Scott (subject/story consultant), Coin Slot (writer/director), Freedom (writer/director), Good Samaritan (writer/co-director), and Don’t Worry, I’m Cool with Your Disability (writer). Scott has been developing new work through the NSI Series Incubator Program (Winnipeg, 2023/2024), RespectAbility Lab (L.A, 2022), and AIFF’s Screenwriting Program (2020). Scott’s films have screened at VIFF, HotDocs, and the BFI. I Forgive You, a play co-written by Scott Jones & Robert Chafe, premiered at the Arts and Culture Centre (Saint John’s) and was later remounted at the National Arts Centre of Canada. I Forgive You is now available through Playwrights Canada Press. For his artistic and activist work, Scott received the Best Atlantic Short Award and the 2020 Power Pitch Award (AIFF), a Contemporary Achievement Award (Mount Allison University), and a Human Rights Award (NS).
