W. A. Hamilton spent her early working years as an advertising copywriter until returning to her hometown Sault Ste. Marie Ontario where she founded Theatre in Motion. She is the recipient of a Community Recognition Award for her contribution to the cultural life of the city. As a playwright/producer she has partnered with organizations to create short plays inspired by area history including The Taking! and This I Shall Defend (War of 1812). Her one acts, Bellies, Knees and Ankles and From the Journals of Harvand Cole (Two Plays from the Fringes) have toured to fringe festivals and non-traditional spaces throughout Ontario. Her full length plays include The Lions and the Lambs and MindLands, which was published in The Canadian Theatre Review. When writing for the sheer joy of the challenge, W.A. creates as part of The Walking Man Collective, collaborating with artists from a variety of disciplines.
