“Meet Chloe” by Cameron Grant
November 15, 2021 @ 12:00 am - May 13, 2022 @ 12:00 am EST
It’s another day of online history class. Chloe is working with her group on a research project about John Graves Simcoe, but she discovers another historical figure that she is much more interested in learning about, someone who even shares the same first name: Chloe Cooley, an enslaved woman who lived in Niagara-on-the-Lake in the 1760’s.
CAN CHLOE CONVINCE HER TEACHER, AND HER PROJECT PARTNERS, TO SWITCH THEIR TOPIC TO COOLEY’S STORY WEEKS BEFORE THE PROJECT IS DUE?
Meet Chloe explores the challenges Black students face in the education system and the lack of Black curriculum content in the study of Canadian History.
