Florence MacDonald PlayConnect Reading, Ontario Culture Days

Join Alliston-based playwright Florence MacDonald in a reading of her recent work. Participants will be able to learn about Florence, listen to the reading, and ask questions.
Ontario Culture Days is partnering with the New Tecumseth Public Library and the Playwrights Guild of Canada’s PlayConnect program to host this reading. Register below to reserve your spot!
Florence MacDonald: Florence MacDonald is an award-winning and internationally produced playwright whose works include Belle, Missing, Home Is My Road, How Do I Love Thee?, and the tap dance show, I Think I Can, co-created with choreographer Shawn Byfield. Long-time playwright-in-residence at Factory Theatre, her plays are published by Playwrights Canada Press with excerpts in many anthologies and other publications. She has written for CBC Radio and her short stories appear in Grain, Understorey Magazine, The Fiddlehead and The Dalhousie Review. Her story, House on Fire, was selected for the 2020 Journey Prize publication this fall. She is currently working on her novel My Heart and I. Florence was a practising physician in Ontario, the Northwest Territories, Hong Kong and East Africa before becoming a full-time writer. Her writing reflects her experiences in unexpected ways.
