November 26th at 1pm ET: Brishkay Ahmed and Charles Campbell

Brishkay Ahmed
Brishkay Ahmed is an emerging playwright and filmmaker living in Vancouver.

Charles Campbell
Having completed enough random courses to receive a BA from Bishop’s University, Charles turned to the dark arts, working as an accountant for over 25 years. During all those years, his interest in creative art never wavered, even developing a reputation for delivering attractive and entertaining budget documents. Retired in early 2021, Charles is committing more time to creative pursuits. Over the years, he has taken opportunities to develop his artistic side, with forays into playwriting, poetry, fiction, photography and visual arts. The Definitely Superior Art Gallery exhibited two of his photographs in shows. He has had three 10 minute plays produced in annual Thunder Bay 10×10 Play Festivals. For Craft Bites Charles will be discussing his process and reading from “Play Your Cards Right”, a draft of which was work shopped in late 2019. This drama revisits his roots growing up in a small mill town and the changes that technology and globalization have wrought on that culture. He also recognizes the casual sexism and racism of the time. This is not an idealization of the past, but an exploration of how cultural and economic dislocation can both harm and empower.
