Andrew G. Cooper
Andrew G. Cooper is an award-winning playwright and theatre director based in Calgary, AB. They are delighted that their plays have been produced across North America and around the world. They have an affinity towards myths, speculative fiction, and fairy tales and their writing and theatre creating often reflects this. Andrew received their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts and English from Thompson Rivers University, they are a member of the Playwrights Guild of Canada, and are a recipient of the Kamloops Mayor’s Emerging Artist of the Year Award. They are also a lover of animals and outer space.
Makram is a community-engaged writer, performer, director, producer, and educator living in Edmonton and Toronto. His playwriting explores queer Arab voices, and he bridges complex, interlocking, political struggles to the very intimate and real experiences of the people impacted by them. Ayache has been nominated for four Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards and is the winner of the 2020 Playwrights’ Guild of Canada’s Emerging Playwright Award for his play “Harun”. He is currently working on his first novel project and launching into a new play development with Factory Theatre’s Foundry Program in the fall of 2021.
